The stars of the weekend were Helena Coetzee who was ranked 4 and steamrolled her way through to the winners podium. Along the way both the number 1 and 2 seeds fell to her newly accomplished technique changes and varied game plan. Helena truly exemplifies the coaching philosophy of

S + PPP/T = 1 ... 11 ... 3

With her father firmly in control of her training, the coaches form a strong complimentary support system ensuring that Helena's progress is the priority. To date Helena has thrived within this triangle where coaches and parents form the foundation and support which the athlete can draw from.

Callan Hall, still a little rusty from his "arthritis induced break" faced strong opposition but managed to play his way into 2nd place in the u16 boys section. John Kuhn - his nemesis since u11 level - proved too strong on the day and with a varied game plan, loads of lobs outplayed Callan to take the title.

Makgosi Peloakgosi had an easy run to the finals, but the match against Kacey Leigh Dodd was what everyone was waiting for and Makgosi did not disappoint - applying all the training and session work and putting it together into a neatly controlled and well executed package, saw Kacey Leigh frustrated from game 1. Kacey Leigh's game never got a chance of finding its place, as Makgosi moved her around the court, prevented her volleys and outplayed her with killer drops.
