In the past gyming or time spent exercising was simply a luxury or an activity for those interested. But today more and more people are coming around to the fact that exercise is a necessity. In order to live healthier, more productive lives one must incorporate physical activity into ones timetable.
Adjusting ones day to try and squeeze in more time seems impossible, but the effects of doing so successfully have a wider effect than believed. Let’s take, for example, Jane Doe’s new-year’s resolution to loose weight, the most over used phrase in the health and fitness world.
First thing that comes to the minds of those who want to loose weight is, “I must exercise (more)”, step two “eat less”, which then becomes watching what you eat – leading to healthy eating habits and frequent & moderate exercise/physical activity. Besides affecting the necessary changes the two factors of exercise and nutrition; affect and change the way one looks at and treat ones body. A well known, but un-stated fact; if you look good and feel great everything you do and everyone you come into contact with is influenced by this positive energy or vibe that you give off. It’s the light or the energy people talk about when they talk about those really confident people, who have an uncanny ability to motivate or inspire. Feeling good is by far the most important factor, but if you can get there by looking good in the process – Bonus!
Don’t you think you treat mother earth and everything on it differently once you become (more) health conscious? Increased physical activity (causes) healthier eating (leads to) healthy life style (resulting in) more openness concerning health, life & living factors. That’s my take on it, what’s yours? Whether your goal is to increase or decrease weight, your life and the way you view it and every single thing in it changes, the way you treat your surroundings change as well, home-work-play.
All that said, I want to know why it seems easier for people to put everything before theirs bodies, neglect and do not think of what we put into our bodies or what we put our bodies through daily.
Why is exercise and fitness seen as or mainly related to sport and sportsmen? Why do we spend more money on our cars or upgrading our homes, but complain once we hear the cost of joining a gymnasium. Why is it that we need a major warning from some Medical doctor before we get involved in physical activities and some form of exercise, living healthier and really looking after our bodies? What has happened to PT in our schools, why is fitness & exercise limited to mostly sport-kids and athletes at school?
These questions and more are asked because we all know and have seen or heard how different disciplines have proved that ones body needs a certain amount of physical activity balanced with specific types of healthy foods, in order for it to function at optimum level.
So ask yourself, should I be exercising? I think you know the answer!
