The Art of Body Sculpting

Posted on October 04, 2010

During my naïve younger days, I used to frown upon bodybuilding due to a misconception that all it took to achieve that hulking size was a daily handful of supplements. Since then I have befriended a few bodybuilding athletes and they have showed me that there is far more to this sport than meets the eye. I see now that bodybuilding is one of the toughest sports in which to compete and without a mental tenacity and intense desire; one will have no hope of being successful. I observe them as they grind out rep after rep, set after agonizing set to a limit that borders on severe bodily harm and it becomes much easier to appreciate the strenuous work undertaken by these athletes. Just when I thought that it could not possibly get any harder for them, I had one of them explain their dieting procedure prior to competition and I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. Not only training to the point of exhaustion day in and day out but also denying their bodies the foods that they desire while trying to maintain focus. Desire, focus, determination, pride, sacrifice and motivation . . . these are but a few of the tools needed to attain the physical perfection that these sportsmen and women portray.

The exercise regiment of a bodybuilder is defined by strenuous training which includes strength conditioning and a carefully chosen diet. Bodybuilding requires both mental and physical dedication in order to fulfill personal and professional successes.

How many bodybuilders did it take to lift the TSG mast higher? Six! That is the number of TSG members who did us proud by participating in various IFBB competitions throughout the country during this past year. All of our TSG bodybuilders were to help raise the bar on bodybuilding in general by sharing various top 5 positions.
