UP Law's Professor Dire Tladi appointed as SARChI Chair for International Constitutional Law

The Faculty of Law (UP Law) at the University of Pretoria (UP) extends hearty congratulations to Professor Dire Tladi in its Department of Public Law and Fellow at the Institute for International and Comparative Law in Africa who has been appointed as the National Research Foundation's (NRF) South African Research Initiative (SARChI) Chair for International Constitutional Law as from 2021.

Prof Tladi's appointment is for a five-year term.

The South African Research Chairs Initiative (SARChI) was established in 2006 by the Department of Science and Technology (DST) and the National Research Foundation (NRF). It is designed to attract and retain excellence in research and innovation at South African public universities through the establishment of Research Chairs at public universities in South Africa with a long-term investment trajectory of up to fifteen years.

In her congratulatory message to Professor Dire Tladi, Dean Professor Elsabe Schoeman of UP Law said: 'Well done, Dire! Once again, thank you for keeping UP Law on the global map where it belongs.'
