Senior Lecturer visits Widener University Delaware Law School in USA

In March 2016 Ms Melanie Murcott, Senior Lecturer in environmental law and administrative law at the University of Pretoria’s Department of Public Law, visited the Widener University Delaware Law School in the United States of America as part of their 2015-2016 Scholar-in-Residence programme on Global Environmental Constitutionalism.

As part of her visit, Melanie presented a lecture on her research concerning environmental justice to a JD constitutional law class at Delaware Law School, and presented to faculty members on her research related to a legal theory of transformative environmentalism in South Africa.

The Widener University Delaware Law School Scholar-in-Residence programme is aimed at comparative research, knowledge exchange and capacity building in the field of environmental constitutionalism. It offers scholars in the field of environmental law such as Melanie an exciting opportunity to build their international networks and secure international exposure for the University of Pretoria.
