The six prizes are sponsored by the Afrikaanse Taal- en Kultuurvereniging (ATKV). Articles in all fields of the humanities are considered. A shortlist is compiled and the winners determined through a process of peer review.
Prof Steve Cornelius from the Department of Private Law, Faculty of Law, University of Pretoria is the proud winner of one of these six prizes for his article " Die reg op identiteit en die kommersiële ontginning van die individu se openbare beeld" that was published in 2008 TSAR 645.
Prof Cornelius recently received this prize which was awarded late in 2011.
