Position, academic and professional qualifications

Mr Shammah G Boterere is an assistant lecturer in the Department of Private Law at the University of Pretoria. He holds the degrees LLB, LLM (Mercantile law) (UP) and is currently studying for his LLD in Consumer Insolvency Law. 

Academic & professional experience

Boterere was appointed as an academic associate in the Department of Private Law in 2018. Thereafter he was appointed as an assistant lecturer in the Department of Private Law in 2019. He also works as an assistant to the editor of the De Jure Law Journal.

Teaching activities

Boterere currently coordinates and lectures Customary Law  (RPR 210) to undergraduate students.

Areas of specialisation

Boterere’s areas of interest lie within the fields of Consumer Law and Customary Law.
