Practical Theology aims to be a Department that empowers people for praxis as critical engagement with both contexts and texts in the service of the academy, church and community. The mission statement of the Department is, from a practical theological perspective, to engage critically with contexts and texts; to cultivate a hermeneutics of suspicion to deconstruct power discourses; to equip and empower students for transformative praxis.
