GovInn Director and UP Political Sciences Professor Lorenzo Fioramonti delivered the opening speech at the ‘Measurement of Wellbeing and Development in Africa’ meeting on 12 November 2015, in the presence of Nobel laureate Joseph E Stiglitz and SA’s Minister of Economic Development, Ebrahim Patel.

The meeting, hosted by the South African Government, OECD-hosted High Level Expert Group, Columbia University’s Center on Global Economic Governance, and Cornell University’s Charles H Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management and Atkinson Center for a Sustainable Future, was focused on moving beyond GDP in measuring wellbeing and development in Africa
