The Department of Political Sciences invites you to its inaugural Annual Lecture on African leadership: Transformational leadership and Africa's 21st-century possibilities, to be presented by former President Kgalema Motlanthe on 27 October.

Mr Kgalema Motlanthe served as President of the Republic of South Africa from September 2008 to May 2009 and subsequently, until May 2014, as Deputy President. From 1997 to 2007 he was secretary general of the ANC and deputy president of the organisation from 2007 to 2012.
