Mounting threats to political stability in SA derive from the fact that equality of political participation grew more rapidly than "the art of associating together". As the people use their democratic right of participation, a popular demand overload builds up against a government that cannot deliver on its promise of "a better life for all", resulting in anger, racial intolerance and radicalism, writes UP Political Sciences Extraordinary Professor Gerrit Olivier in Business Day.
