The researcher will work within the framework of the Regional Integration, Migration and Social Policy (RIMIS) research programme of the UNESCO Chair in Regional Integration, Migration and the Free Movement of People. This chair, currently occupied by Professor Bob Deacon, is located at UNUCRIS. Details of the programme are available on the UNESCO Chair website .

The position will be available from an early date in 2012 for two years in the first instance. Remuneration will be the equivalent of approximately 15 000 euro* per annum, tax free, depending on exchange rates. In South African terms it will be a fixed amount of ZAR150 000 per annum.

At this stage expressions of interest are invited. We are interested in hearing from scholars from any country who have recently obtained their PhD and have experience of researching in a field linked to this postdoctoral opportunity. We require a maximum of two pages of information, including a brief CV and indicating an area of future research interest. Applicants will be shortlisted and subsequently invited to submit a more detailed research proposal on the basis of which a final selection will be made.
