Altamash (top left), a BAdmin (International Relations student), has been chosen to represent South Africa in the Youth Delegation to the G20 Summit in Russia from 16 June to 8 July.

Political Science honours student, tutor and UNA-SA (PTA) chair Naidoo (bottom left) has been selected by the World Federation of United Nations Associations as the South African delegate at the Third UNA Youth Human Rights Training Course, “So you want to be the next High Commissioner?”, to be held in Switzerland from 22-25 July.

UNA-SA (PTA) is an ambitious non-profit organisation and student-run society of the University of Pretoria, working to support and strengthen the UN’s efforts by creating a platform through which experts, as well as South African and international students can grapple with global concerns to create a more knowledgeable and proactive civil society.

The two Tukkies students expect that their experience abroad will provide them with additional tools to enhance public dialogue in South Africa and contribute to the achievement of the UN slogan: "UN: It’s your world".

Upcoming UNA-SA (PTA) projects to support and sponsor:

  • 11-12 July: Model United Nations South African University Conference
  • 3 August: Foot for Peace (Charity meets Soccer)
  • 2-5 September: Green Week (Green Living, Green Politics, Green Careers)
