Ms Mabera is working on an MA dissertation entitled "The African Union and the Responsibility to Protect: Lessons learnt from the 2011 United Nations Security Council intervention in Libya". The thesis delves into the status of R2P within the African Peace and Security Architecture of the AU, institutionalisation and implementation of the norm, among other things. The research visit was made possible by funds from the APR2P and the UP Postgraduate Travel Abroad Programme. The visit, which was a resounding success, has helped to strengthen the institutional partnership between UP and the University of Queensland. |
