Posted on July 22, 2013

Strategic Review for Southern Africa is an internationally accredited and peer-reviewed periodical of the Department of Political Sciences at the University of Pretoria.

Since the journal’s establishment in 1978 it has witnessed major social and political changes in Southern Africa, the wider continent of Africa and the world. In recognition of these changes, and as a project in transition guided by a new editorial team, the journal has adjusted its content and format. At the same time, however, it will continue its founding mission to engage in strategic and political analysis of socio-political developments that impact Southern Africa.

Issue no. 1/13 offers, among others, current analyses on
  • SADC and Zimbabwe
  • The Banyarwanda in the DRC
  • Post-genocide Rwanda
  • Zimbabwe Before the Elections
  • South Africa's Security Laws
  • The SADC Tribunal
  • Regional Security Architecture (SIPO II)
  • Several book reviews
