Seminar invitation: South Africa in 2030

These scenarios are explained in the latest ISS paper in the African Futures series. Author Jakkie Cilliers will discuss the significant impact that policy and leadership choices will have in the coming years, and outline seven strategic interventions that could set South Africa on the most prosperous 'Mandela Magic' pathway.

Dr Cilliers is the executive director of the ISS and is an extraordinary professor in the UP Centre for Human Rights and Department of Political Sciences. He serves on the editorial boards of the African Security Review and the South African Journal of International Affairs. He is a regular commentator on local and international radio and television and has attended a large number of international conferences. He also serves on the International Advisory Board of the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP) in Switzerland and as a member of the board of advisers of the Center on International Conflict Resolution, Columbia University, New York.
