In the seminar, entitled “Stability in the South Caucasus in light of South Africa-Azerbaijan Relations”, Ambassador Polukhov discussed historical reasons for, and solutions to, existing tensions and conflict in the South Caucasus region. Ambassador Polukhov also highlighted Azerbaijan’s economic advancement due to the country’s rich oil and gas reserves. Due to its growing economy, Azerbaijan has a vested interest in strengthening its relations with South Africa and contributing to development of South Africa while engaging in cultural exchange between the two countries. |
