Posted on February 15, 2018

The Carbon Nanomaterials (CNM) Group headed by Prof Ncholu Manyala at the Physics Department have newly acquired the high performance WITec alpha300R confocal Raman system which has the capability of running Raman imaging, Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) and Scanning Near-field Optical Microscopy (SNOM) techniques with different laser powers.

The purchase of this state-of-the-art system was funded through the National Research Foundation (NRF) under the National Nanotechnology Equipment Programme (NNEP). This equipment has recently been commissioned and is located in the Natural Science 1 Building. The facility is open to researchers from academic institutions and industry.

Details about this equipment can be viewed using the following link.

The terms of use and associated rates per sample can also be downloaded from the Instrument page which can be accessed here.
