Members of the Electronic Materials and Thin Films research group have formed the core of the organising committee of the 6th SA Conference on Photonic Materials, which will be held at the Mabula Private Game Lodge from 4 - 8 May 2015.
The Conference is being organised by the Departments of Physics at the University of Pretoria (UP), University of the Free State (UFS), and the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU), under the auspices of the Division for Condensed Matter Physics and Materials and the Applied Physics Forum of the South African Institute of Physics.
The conference will host 9 internationally recognised invited speakers, and a total of 15 international delegates. The total number of delegates for the conference is over 70.
The conference covers most aspects of photon interaction with materials (be they bulk materials, thin films or powders) , from solar cells, photo-detectors, luminescent materials, to bio-photonic materials.
