Prof. Lindy Mitchell is an alumnus of the University of Pretoria. She has worked in the Paediatric Cardiology Unit at Steve Biko Academic Hospital in Pretoria since 2004, and with her colleagues there, she has developed it into a centre of excellence for interventional cardiology and patient care. She was awarded her Adjunct Professorship from UP in 2019 and was promoted to Head of the Paediatric Cardiology Unit in 2021. She is an enthusiastic teacher of undergraduate and postgraduate medical students and Fellows in Paediatric Cardiology. She has served on the Executive Committee of the Paediatric Cardiac Society of SA since 2012 and works to raise awareness of heart disease in children. Although she enjoys all fields of Paediatric cardiology, her particular interests are Interventional cardiology and Fetal echocardiography.
