Professor David Reynders is a paediatric haematologist and oncologist affiliated with the University of Pretoria and Steve Biko Academic Hospital. He serves as Principal Specialist and Adjunct Professor in the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health, where he leads the Paediatric Oncology Unit.

He obtained both his undergraduate medical degree and postgraduate qualifications in Paediatrics and Paediatric Oncology from the University of Pretoria and the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa. His expertise has been further enhanced by advanced training in Leuven, Belgium, and London, United Kingdom. Additionally, he completed a clinical fellowship in paediatric bone marrow transplantation at the Bristol Royal Children’s Hospital.

In addition to his clinical role, Professor Reynders is actively involved in teaching and research. He contributes to both undergraduate and postgraduate training programmes in paediatrics and paediatric oncology and plays a key role in mentoring the next generation of healthcare professionals. His academic interests include paediatric malignancies, supportive care in oncology, and bone marrow transplantation.
