Dr Elsa Lubbe
Paediatric Neurologist, Senior Consultant – Steve Biko Academic Hospital
Dr Elsa Lubbe is a board-certified Paediatric Neurologist with extensive clinical and academic experience. She has been based in the Paediatric Neurology Unit at Steve Biko Academic Hospital since completing her sub-specialist training in October 2006 and currently serves as a full-time senior consultant in the Department of Paediatrics.

Her areas of special interest include epilepsy and paediatric movement disorders. Dr Lubbe is actively involved in undergraduate medical education and is the current block chair in Paediatrics for the Student Intern Complex (SIC) rotation for final-year MBChB students at the University of Pretoria. This phase forms part of the students’ clinical internship, providing integrated training across various medical disciplines. She also plays a key role in supervising and accrediting paediatric neurology subspecialist trainees.

Dr Lubbe served on the Executive Committee of the Paediatric Neurology and Developmental Association of South Africa (PANDA-SA) for 15 years, contributing significantly to the discipline's growth and development nationally.
