Dr Michael Christie is a General Paediatrician and Paediatric Infectious Diseases Fellow based at Kalafong Provincial Tertiary Hospital. His clinical and research interests centre on paediatric HIV, tuberculosis, and antimicrobial stewardship. He is affiliated with the University of Pretoria’s Research Centre for Maternal, Fetal, Newborn and Child Health Care Strategies, as well as the South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC) Research Unit for Maternal and Infant Health Care Strategies.

In addition to his clinical and research responsibilities, Dr Christie contributes to undergraduate medical education as the Co-Block Chair of the Undergraduate Paediatrics Program at the University of Pretoria.
