In this book the authors explain ancient Mediterranean values of the first century (like honour and shame, dyadic personalities, social stratification, their concept of time) and adapted these values with illustrations of social interaction narratives in the ancient world. Terms like ethnocentrism, anachronism and reductionism is explained by means of contemporary examples from the South African context in such a way that the non-specialist will be able to understand it without effort.
