TuksNetball FastNet Tournament 2011

Posted on October 26, 2011

FastNet is a short term for Fast Netball and it means just that. The game is still made up of four quarters however these quarters are much shorter. Some of the rules are different such as the rolling substitution and the rules regarding the centre pass and when a goal is scored.

The major difference between FastNet and normal netball is that the teams have to choose when to take their power play. During the power play, points are doubled. Also in FastNet the Goal Attack and Goal Shooter are allowed to shoot from outside the circle. If the goal was scored during a power play it will count as four points and if scored during normal play it will count two points.

This year we are very happy to announce that we have 7 u15 teams, 20 u17 teams and 5 senior teams.
The tournament began Wednesday 21 September and will end 26 October 2011.

So far the girls have really enjoyed playing netball with a twist and we hope that they will continue to do so.
