Academic profile

Mr Thiru Padayachy is a Lecturer in the Department of Mercantile Law and holds the degrees LLB-University of Pretoria and LLM-Mercantile law University of Pretoria. He is also an admitted Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.

Academic and professional experience

Mr Thiru Padayachy has been a law lecturer in various fields across the LLB curriculum at both public and private institutions of Higher Learning since 2005. He has also been a practising attorney for a number of years. Mr Padayachy has gained significant experience as a BEE analyst, consultant and accredited Key individual for Insurance.

Teaching activities

Mr Padayachy currently teaches Commercial Law and General Principles of Insurance Law. 

Areas of specialisation

His areas of specialisation include Insurance Law and BBBEE.
