The Department of Mercantile Law is the largest academic department in the Law Faculty. The current Head of Department is Professor Phumudzo Munyai. The Department has 23 permanent full-time academic positions, with over 19 of available academic positions filled. Of the 19 permanent full-time academic staff members currently in the Department, 13 have a doctoral degree as their highest qualification and those without a doctorate are currently registered for the qualification.
