Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program

The University of Pretoria (UP), in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program aims to support academically gifted African youth facing economic and social barriers who are committed to effecting positive change on the continent. The Program's objective is to provide assistance to African youth who are faced with substantial socio-economic barriers, including refugees or internally displaced persons (IDPs) and persons with disabilities.

Duration of the Program

Scholars are expected to fulfill the requirements of their specific degree within the allocated minimum period.

The Program is now accepting applications from prospective students who have applied to the University of Pretoria. To be eligible, students must have been accepted into an undergraduate, honours, or master's degree program with their first year of study commencing in 2025.
