Postgraduate programmes

The Mammal Research Institute prides itself on being a leading provider of training for future leaders in mammal research and management.

Our postgraduate students benefit from interacting with our team of internationally recognised core and associate members. By doing so, they are exposed to the latest ideas and methods in mammal conservation, ecology, genetics, physiology, and other disciplines.

Importantly, our postgraduate students actively participate in the research culture and are valued affiliates of the MRI.

Students affiliated with the MRI may pursue either the BSc Honours, Master of Science (MSc) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Wildlife Management or Zoology. All postgraduate students affiliated with the MRI are registered in these programmes through the Department of Zoology and Entomology at the University of Pretoria.
