Devotional Service at the faculty of Theology

Academic Devotional Service

It is the faculty's priority to start the academic year on a devotional service, Afterall theology is the study of God and it is ideal that as the year resumes, to dedicate some time to this God that the scholars try to understand and to somehow ask this God to guide us throughout the year as we deconstruction some of the accounts found written about him.

The service was hosted at Musaoin on the 18th Februaru 2013 from 10:30 - 11:30. There was an opening speech by the Dean of the faculty Prof. Buitendag, then there was an opening prayer and a scripture reading addressing UBUNTU by Prof. Kgatla, then was a speech by the chairperson of house theology Almie van Rooyen and a closing prayer and vote of thanks by the dean of the faculty.

It was a very beautyful experience. Seeing the procession as the lectures were entering the hall. To others, it was a first especially the first years that attended the service were really humbled by the experience. And the service ended at Burgandy's with cup-cakes and juice.
