Carina Horn who currently boasts with the fastest time over 100 metres in the world for the season had to withdraw competing at the Commonwealth Games due to an injury.
The Tuks-athlete is disappointed but said it would be foolish to risk aggravating it especially since she is so close to becoming the first South African female sprinter to dip under 11 seconds. During the recent South African Championships at Tuks, she ran 11.03s and 11.08s.
If nothing unforeseen happens, Horn’s next race will be the Diamond League Meeting in Doha (4 May).
