Henricho Bruintjies has in a way become the forgotten sprinter of South African athletics but that might just have changed last night when he clocked a time of 10.06s in the 100 metres at the Paavo Nurmi Games in Turku.
It is the Tuks-athlete’s best performance since 2015 when he sprinted to his first and only official sub ten second race of his career. He clocked 9.97s in LaChaux-de-Fonds. Last year his best time was only 10.11s.
Ramil Guliyev (Turkey) won the 100m last night running 10.02s, with Bruintjies second and Emile Erasmus (Tuks) third in 10.13s.
Le Roux Hamman (Tuks) finished third in the 400m-hurdles. His time was 50.38s
