Tuks/hpc athletes excel at AGN Champs

At the AGN Athletics Champs over the weekend (11 – 12 March) Akani Simbine qualified for the Olympics in the 200m Semi-Final in a time of 20.29.  The final was however cancelled due to heavy rainstorms.  He continued on Saterday to win the 100m in a time of 10.01.
 
Luvo Manyonga, long-jumper sets a new PB with his winning distance of 8.30m.
 
LJ van Zyl won the 400-hurdles in 50.09s.  
 
Gezelle Magerman, the Youth Olympic champion, claimed the women's under-20 400 hurdles race in 59.09s on Friday evening and won the 400m in 54.37s on Saterday.
 
Wenda Nel cruised to victory in the senior women’s 400m race, winning in a time of 52.27s.
Irvette van Zyl won the 5 000m in 16:17.69 and Orazio Cremona won the shot put with a distance of 19.31m.
