Wian Sullwald had a good start to his season when on Saturday he won the African Cup Triathlon event in Troutbeck, Zimbabwe.
He won the 1.5km swim, 40km cycle and 10km run in 2 hours 3 minutes and 29 seconds. Bob Haller (Luxembourg) was second in 2:03:36 with another Luxembourger, Neil Peters, finishing third in 2:06:00. Eduardo Lass (Brazil) was fourth in 2:06:46 and Wikus Weber fifth in 2:07:13.
His next race will be the World Series event at Australia’s Gold Coast (11-12 April).
