Lebogang Shange Breaks 26-Year SA 3000m Walk Record

Lebogan Shange, hpc sponsored race walker clocked 11:20.39 at a league meeting in Pretoria on Saturday 7 March to chop nearly seven seconds off the 26-year-old record held by his coach, Chris Britz, in the seven-and-a-half lap event.

Results of other hpc sponsored athletes:
LJ van Zyl was the other athlete who had reason to smile on Saturday. He won the 400-hurdles in a time of 49.42s, which means that he has qualified for the World Championships in Beijing. 

Wenda Nel, won the women's 400m in 52.43s while Akani Simbine, who competed for the first time after having been side-lined with an injury for a long time, won the 100m in 10.42s and the 200m in 20.76s.
