#TuksFencing excelled at SA National Youth Championships

Posted on February 28, 2018

Members of TuksFencing recently competed with great success in the SA National Youth Championships, held in Cape Town on 3 & 4 February 2018.

Although fencing is an individual sport, fencers represent their province at this national competition. That being said, competition between clubs remain fierce for accolades (and the obvious medal-count).

In the final results, Gauteng simply proved stronger than the other provinces:
• Gauteng (8 x Gold, 10 x Silver, 11 x Bronze)
• Freestate (6 x Gold, 3 x Silver, 5 x Bronze)
• Western Cape (4 x Gold, 3 x Silver, 7 x Bronze)

On club-level across all disciplines, TuksFencing achieved the 2nd place overall on the medal standings. This is quite an accomplishment since only some club members competed due to the event being hosted in Cape Town.  Click here for the full medal standing
