The DLS extends a very warm welcome to the new staff members that have recently joined us- we are so excited to have you in our team. We asked them some questions about themselves to get to know them better.
1. How do you prefer to start your day and end your day?
I prefer starting my day waking up as early as possible, as the saying goes “the early bird gets the fattest worm”. I am not a breakfast person. I would normally grab a snack, put on headphones and listen to my playlist on my way to work. At the end of the day, I like to unwind. I consider myself a good cook, so I would normally cook supper, pour myself a glass of wine and watch reality shows or series.
2. What was your first job?
I was working at the Merensky Library as Junior Information Officer. It was a great opportunity as it aligned with my skills and what I have learned during the course of my degree, Information Science. I had fun, learned and gained experience that will help me advance my career. I am forever grateful to Mrs Gerda Ehlers for believing in me.
3. What advice would you give to your teenage self?
“Hard work pays off” and do not let your family background define who you are, let it motivate you to change it.
