MEET: Veliswa Tshetsha, Senior Co-ordinator of Open Scholarship

We are very pleased to introduce our new Senior Co-ordinator of Open Scholarship to you - Veliswa Tshetsha! Congratulations on your new position and we wish you every bit of success in your new duties. Welcome to the University of Pretoria Library Services' family, Veliswa!

Veliswa’s focus areas include Open Access, research data management, repository management and metadata issues, copyright and academic research impact services.

Veliswa was born in the Eastern Cape. She enrolled at the University of the Western Cape (UWC) in 1997 to study towards a Bachelor's degree in Library and Information Science Studies, thereafter beginning her career began at UWC as a Library Assistant in the Periodicals Department in 2002. Between 2006 and 2018 she held a number of positions at CPUT, UWCon, Planning Partners and Unisa as a Full-time Librarian, Part-time Librarian, Branch Manager, Faculty Librarian, Senior Librarian and Scholarly Communication Librarian, with a specific focus to Research Support Services. In 2019 she obtained her Master's Degree in Library and Information Science and co-authored papers on LibGuides Technology.
