On 12 May 2017, the Department of Library Services at the University of Pretoria took part in the 6th Annual Slipper Day.
Slipper Day is a Reach for a Dream campaign that raises money for organisations that help make the dreams of children and teenagers with life-threatening illnesses come true.
Library staff members donated R10 each and in return they received a colourful wristband with an inspiring message and the right to wear slippers to work for a day!
Some of the slippers sighted included Sharks Rugby team slippers, peanut butter & jam slippers, yellow ducky-, panda bear-, unicorn- and kitten slippers, and plenty of super comfy stokies. The Merensky 2 Library has seldom seen such colourful footwear among the staff. And as the weather was just starting to turn cold it was good news for our feet as well.
