UPDATE: 2020 Autumn Graduation Ceremonies

The 2020 autumn graduation ceremonies of the University of Pretoria, which were scheduled to take place from 7 April to 8 May 2020, have been cancelled due to the global pandemic caused by COVID-19 (the Coronavirus) and the announcement by the President on Sunday, 15 March 2020, that all events and gatherings of more than 100 people are prohibited until further notice.

The University Executive is committed to doing all that is possible to safeguard the health of our students and staff. All contact classes have been suspended, until further notice. Conferences, events and sporting activities at the University have been cancelled.

The University will award all the qualifications listed in the graduation programmes of the autumn graduation ceremonies in absentia. The ceremony will be live streamed and the link to the live streaming will be provided closer to the date.

All graduates will receive communication from the University to inform them of the arrangements to provide them with access to their qualification certificates, official academic transcripts and the official graduation programme during April and May 2020.

The University will also communicate with graduates during the second semester of 2020 regarding a possible opportunity to celebrate their graduation.

The graduation office will courier your qualification to you at no cost at least seven working days after the graduation date stipulated in your K02/K03/K04/K05 letter.

Kindly log on to your student portal and follow the steps below to indicate the physical address you would like your qualification to be couriered to:

  • Type in your user name, eg S123456
  • Type in your portal password
  • Click on your student Centre link
  • Click on Graduation Information (on the left side)
  • Click on ”Indicate your requests for graduation”
