#TuksCricket: Acceleration Programme Launch

Posted on January 12, 2017

On Wednesday 11 January, Assupol TuksCricket launched a new programme called the Assupol TuksCricket Acceleration Programme. The programme will replace former TuksCricket Academy programme which was created in 2008.

The Assupol TuksCricket Acceleration Programme has been designed to suit the individual by giving the athlete the ability to design their own package by choosing their own session structure to suit their needs. The programme can be designed for up to the duration of a year, in between the athlete’s studies or around a season of cricket overseas.

Players can choose between cricket specific sessions, sports science sessions and other support service sessions. Cricket specific sessions include batting, bowling and fielding sessions with specific warm up and activation for players. The sport science sessions include strength & conditioning services, video analysis, a functional movement screening and scientific testing. The other support service sessions include nutrition and psychology sessions. All sessions will be presented at world-class facilities that Assupol TuksCricket has to offer including the CSA Centre of Excellence.

The programme has been divided into four terms and each term will have a minimum amount of sessions that a player must attend to make the programme effective. Players can also decide how many terms they would like to attend per year. The new structure will give players the opportunity to be part of an intensive cricket programme while pursuing their studies or going overseas for a season of Club Cricket.

Head of Programme at Assupol TuksCricket, Kruger van Wyk spoke about the new programme and said, “At Assupol TuksCricket we have always been a market leader in cricket programmes and developing young talent. This programme allows more players to get more individual attention from all the coaches at Tuks and we believe this will help players improve their individual performances. We pride ourselves in creating an environment where young players can achieve their dreams.”

The Acceleration Programme has already started but players are welcome to join on a termly basis. For more information on this programme please contact Blanche Conradie on 012 420 6124 or [email protected]
