AssupolTuksCricket Continue their Winning Ways at the 2016 Momentum National Club Champs

Posted on April 23, 2016

On the second day of the Momentum National Club Championships Assupol TuksCricket played against the Griquas Team, Burma Lads at St Albans College.

Tuks won the toss and decided to bat first. After an initial collapse at the top of the batting order, Assupol TuksCricket found themselves 37/4 in the 13th over. But thanks to a 128 run partnership between Thomas Kaber (84 from 82) and Evan Jones (76 from 97) Tuks reached 165 before they lost their 5th wicket, Evan Jones. Willie Ludick then came to the crease and scored 86 from 50 balls and helped Tuks reach a score of 306/6 in 50 overs.

In response, Burma Lads put up a fight and Patrick Kruger scored 129 from 113 balls but even this good batting display couldn’t get his team over the line. The Tuks bowlers bowled them out for 237 in the 45th over. Roger Arendse (8-0-27-3) and Willie Ludick (4-1-23-2).

Assupol TuksCricket is currently second on the log with three games to go. Tomorrow they will play against Old Selbornians at Sinovich Park.
