TuksCricket : New Tuks 1 captain takes Police bowlers to cleaners with undefeated double century

Francois’ wicket fell om 271 (in the 38th over), just before drinks - his 114 scored of 108 balls. Next in was A.B de Villiers who accumulated a quick 29 of 18 balls. Leon Nel stepped up to the crease at 323 for 2 and scored 78 of 49 balls which complimented Maurice’s flowing run scoring style. Maurice's brilliant 209 came from only 190 deliveries.

Police were sent in after lunch to face the Assupol Tuks 1 bowlers who was excited to get on the field and take some wickets. Leon Nel and Dwaine Pretorius opened the bowling and from the start were looking dangerous. Dwaine Pretorius bowled beautifully and took 7 wickets in 12 overs for 47 runs. Leon Nel yet again provided assistance from the other end and bowled 7 overs for 19 runs and took 1 wicket. Gerhard Linde was brought on after Leon Nel and bowled 4 overs for 15 runs. Maurice came on to take the last wicket of the innings with a sensational catch from the big bowler Gerhard Linde which ended the day in great fashion.

Police 1 was all back in the pavilion for only 83 runs (24.2 overs).

Tuks teams also had the upper hand in two of the three other matches contested on Saturday.

Tuks 2 beat Harlequins by 9 wickets

Harlequins 100 all out (33.4 overs; Werner van Lingen 6/31 in 10.4 overs)

Tuks 2 101/1 (18.3 overs; Ernest Kemm 59*)

Tuks 3 beat Police 2 by 8 wickets

Police 2 161 all out (44.4 overs; Scheepers Fourie 4/18 in 9 overs).

Tuks 3 163/2 (34.1 overs; Mario Correra 67).

Harlequins 2 beat Tuks 4 by 162 runs

Harlequins 320 (42.2 overs; Fagan Nicholson 3/37 in 4
overs).

Tuks 158 all out (Fagan Nicholson 68).
