The Centre of Excellence is part of CSA's vision to host the best cricket development programme in the world. The CEO of CSA Haroon Lorgat said “The CoE will spearhead excellence and transformation by always being at the forefront of the development of the game. To invest in our players and structures is not negotiable."
This building will support the University of Pretoria's contribution and commitment towards the nation's sport success both locally and internationally.
The building will be used by both CSA and TuksCricket. CSA will use this building for all the teams and players that they host at the University's High Performance Centre. TuksCricket will benefit with the Centre by being able to use this facility as part of their training for their Elite Squad and Senior & Junior Cricket Academies.
TuksCricket currently has four National Captains in FAF du Plessis (SA T20 Captain), AB de Villiers (SA ODI Captain), Aiden Markram (SA u19 Captain) and Mignon du Preez (SA Ladies Captain - not present).
