This year's Varsity Cricket competition will be hosted in Potchefstroom again from 25–30 January. It will be very similar to last year's competition, with only a few minor changes and improvements.

Team South Africa successfully defended their world title as the winners of the Red Bull Campus Cricket World Finals for the second year in a row when they beat England in the final in Dehradun, India on Saturday, 24 October 2015.

At the 2015 Gauteng Sports Awards, Assupol TuksCricket won the Sports Team of the Year Award for the second year in a row, and Assupol TuksCricket Head Coach won the Coach of the Year Award.

This year’s student world cup will be taking place at the picturesque Abhimanyu Cricket Academy ground at the National School of Cricket situated just outside of Dehradun.
