Webinar 1: Climate Change Impacts on Food Systems in Africa

The University of Pretoria, Future Africa Institute, and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in collaboration with the Food, Agriculture and Natural Resources Policy Analysis Network (FANRPAN) with support from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation convened the Climate, Land, Agriculture and Biodiversity (CLAB) - Africa Webinar Series in the month of May.

The CLAB-Africa project is designed to elevate Africa’s specific knowledge as it relates to climate change, land, agriculture, and biodiversity responses which may support the arguments of African States and development institutions in their various negotiations and policy framework discussions.

The Climate Impacts on Food Systems in Africa Webinar held on 11 May focused on recommendations on:
(a) applying climate change science to improve food systems. 
(b) renewable energy as a solution for climate-sensitive food solution.
(c) Africa’s plant diversity for increased yields and improved nutrition.
