The Department of Ancient and Modern Languages and Cultures is very proud to announce that one of their research associates, Dr Geoffrey Dunn FAHA, has been elected a Fellow of the Australian Academy of the Humanities.

Dr Dunn is an expert in early Christian life and thought, especially in North Africa, the history of the early papacy, and the writings of Augustine of Hippo. He has published widely with international university presses and journals on the interaction of Jews and Christians in the first centuries CE and the way in which Latin writers of the time exploited rhetoric for their purposes in religious conflict. His publications are highly influential in the field and are much quoted by other scholars worldwide.
