Student society
Tax@Tuks held its annual networking event on 26 July 2016, where students could network with potential future employers, personally hand in their CVs to firm representatives and learn more about career opportunities.
The students were entertained and motivated by guest speaker Daniel Dias, an EY representative and winner of the EY Young Tax Professional award of 2015. Mr Dias provided them with invaluable career and personal branding development advice. Representatives from EY, KPMG, Momentum and Deloitte, to name but a few, engagement with the students. One recruiter at the event complimented the University of Pretoria’s
Taxation degree, noting that UP tax students are the top-rated students in practice.
Many prizes were won, including monetary and discount vouchers sponsored by the South African Institute of Tax Professionals. The event truly showcased the passion and enthusiasm of
Tax@Tuks in striving to provide the students with only the best opportunities and increased exposure to possible employers.
