Student Training

We invite students that want to pursue the following degrees to contact us for available projects. We also invite students that have approved NRF funding to contact us.

• BSc(Hons)(Medical Virology); MSc (Medical Virology); Ph.D. (Medical Virology)
• MMED in Virology or related clinical field- projects in neurological arboviruses or emerging respiratory viruses
• Post Graduate and Post-Doc (Molecular Virology/Arboviral Entomology/Epidemiology/Immunology/Bioinformatics)
• NRF interns

Bursaries: Applications to PRF; NRF; MRC  &  Robert Koch Institute, Berlin Germany (ANDEMIA) and LEAP AGRI project, through registration on available projects.

Option to register with HPCSA as student medical Scientist:

The department has a few positions for intern training for students with at least a  BSc(Hons). Intern positions are completed while doing an MSc or Ph.D. degree.
