TuksVolleyball hosted their annual High School tournament on the 16th September 2017 at Groenkloof Sports Centre.
20 courts were set up – 3 indoor courts and 17 outdoor courts.
16 Schools entered 56 teams across 5 categories (Girls -u/14, u/16, u/19; Boys – u/16, u/19).
We welcomed 3 new schools to the tournament, Gressworld Senior School, the International School of South Africa and the American International School of Mozambique.
We would also like to thank the schools that have participated over the past few years for their ongoing support.
A special mention goes to Fourways High School that entered 12 girls’ teams.
This meant that 146 games were played from 8.30 a.m. and the prizegiving finished at 6 p.m. It was a long and very hot day but was thoroughly enjoyed by all the players.
There are many people that were involved in the success of the tournament: the TuksVolleyball Executive, the Club’s coaches and its members, including the coaches and school teachers, the players as well as the parents.
With 20 courts, operating all at once, there were a lot of moving parts that needed to work in synergy to make the day work and be a success. And everything did!
Thanks go out to Sibo Maswanganye and Takalani Mfamadi from TuksSport for all their support and assistance. As well as Lucille Weyer, from Groenkloof Campus, who made our lives so much easier with all her assistance.
